Session Dates:   July 16th – July 20th (9am – 4pm)

Base Camp:   Green Mountain Tech & Career Center (738 VT. Rte 15, Hyde Park, VT) – GMTCC is located just behind Lamoille Union High School. *Please do not call GMTCC with questions regarding this program.

For this session we’re excited to have access to GMTCC as our base camp. We have a great indoor space for tying flies, prepping for fishing outings and ducking out of bad weather, but we hope to spend most of our time on the water!

11828695_10153568084236602_3195420285311065242_nDrop-Off / Pick-Up: Camp hours are from 9am – 4pm each day. Please understand that we cannot guarantee supervision outside of these hours, so please avoid early drop-offs and late pick-ups.

What to Bring: We supply rods, reels, flies and tackle. If your child has their own gear that they would like to use, they are more than welcome to do so! Here are some other things to send with the kiddos…

  • Footwear: we will likely be doing a lot of shallow wading in trout streams. For this the kids will need some type of water shoe (closed toe only) or an old pair of hiking boots that you don’t mind getting trashed.
  • Clothing: For the most part, dress for the weather. For fishing outings, bathing suit shorts are a good option. Just make sure to pack a change (or 2!) of clothes. We will never fish in t-storms, but we will fish in the rain. Make sure to send a rain coat.
  • Sun & Bugs: Sunglasses are an absolute must for protecting our eyes from the hook that we are waving around in the air. Polarized sunglasses are HIGHLY recommended as they take the glare off the water and make it easier to see what’s going on. You can generally pick up a cheapo pair for under $20. Sunscreen, bugspray and a baseball hat are also a must.
  • Belongings & Lunch: Send a back pack with lunch, plenty of snacks, a water bottle and any personal belongings. It’s a good idea to have your child’s name on their stuff so it doesn’t get lost in the sauce!

Guides: We are very picky about staffing and require all new guides to undergo background checks, including driving records. We also require that all staff be certified in First Aid & CPR. Typical guide to camper ratios are 1:4.
